Samuel Mira, known by his stage name Sam the Kid, is a key figure in Portuguese music. Originally from Chelas, Zona I—where he first created his beats and rhymes—the rapper has been involved with MEO KALORAMA since its very first edition through the association Chelas É O Sítio, which he founded, in an effort to showcase the musical talent of the community that hosts the festival every year.
In 2026, he will finally take the festival stage in his own right, in a concert where he will be accompanied by an orchestra and Orelha Negra, a project founded in 2009 in which Sam the Kid, together with Fred Pinto Ferreira, João Gomes, Francisco Rebelo, and DJ Cruzfader, produces instrumental songs that blend various styles.
