Considered by many to be one of the greatest albums of all time, this work revolutionized hip hop and established Lauryn Hill as the most important female voice in the movement. At MEO KALORAMA, Ms. Lauryn Hill will be joined by Wyclef Jean, with whom she founded Fugees in 1990, and special guests YG Marley and Zion, the singer’s sons, for a unique performance where, together, they will perform Fugees classics and The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in full.

Black Star is the duo formed by rappers Mos Def and Talib Kweli. Formed in Brooklyn in 1997, their work is deeply rooted in political and social consciousness. The project emerged in the aftermath of the deaths of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur, at a time when hip hop culture, still relatively young, was shaken by the void left by the loss of these two iconic figures. Black Star sought to reconcile these tensions on the album Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star (1998), and after more than two decades without releasing new material, they returned in 2022 with No Fear Of Time, produced by Madlib.

Joshua Idehen first reached us as a member of Sons of Kemet, the group that shook the foundations of British jazz. The unmistakable voice of the British-Nigerian poet and musician glides over minimalist instrumentals, offering a modern take on spoken word that is as hypnotic as it is menacing. Required listening: “Mum Does the Washing.”
