Alt-country is back, and Wednesday are a big reason why. Karly Hartzman, frontwoman and main songwriter, creates songs as beautiful as they are challenging, painting contemporary American life with unmatched clarity. Rat Saw God (2023) is already a cult album, and Bleeds (2025) lives up to its predecessor. Fierce guitar music, perfect for a road trip between Nashville and any small town on the U.S. East Coast, and in 2026 it detours to Parque da Bela Vista to visit Lisbon for the first time. According to Pitchfork, Bleeds is the best rock album of the year. We agree.
